David Jenkins
I am two-thirds of my way through my journey to becoming a driving instructor.
In April 2019, I was made redundant from the insurance business having spent the last 40 years in the profession (the company were relocating the specialism to another county). I saw this as an opportunity to train as a driving instructor.
Whilst training I am also transporting disabled children to and from school each day. I am enjoying this role too and may go on to the further to teach disabled people to learn to drive too!
Our CEO John Nicholson said “I am so privileged to know David and his family. Their sense of community welfare and helping others is exactly what we are looking for when we bring people on board as trainee instructors. What we do is so ground-breaking that it isn’t for everyone as the backstories for some of the people we teach is harrowing and hard to listen to. But, David and his family are now part of the CDS family and we welcome them into our community.”
