What is your name and position within your company?
Paul Carter and I’m the founder / joint owner.
What is the name of your company and how long have you been involved with it?
Beachshore Design Limited. We started up in 2005.
What does your company do and what makes it so special?
We’re a web design agency, dedicated to producing quality website solutions for a broad range of businesses in Kent and across the UK. We specialise in developing custom cloud database solutions that can sit behind a website. It’s a family business, literally, as it’s owned and run by the family. My brother Howard and I are the two technical leads. We both have a lot of experience in software development so bring that knowledge and dedication to all our projects.
What is the most important value you hold onto in business?
Clarity and responsiveness. In a jargon-heavy industry we work hard to explain everything to our clients in plain English. A big part of what we do is supporting our existing customer base and we ensure we respond to their needs and issues as quickly as possible.
What advice would you give to people interested in becoming entrepreneurs in your industry?
Technical experience is important but never lose sight of who you are working for. Try to put yourself in your client’s shoes and understand the ethos of their business before attempting to provide a solution.
Why did you choose to “Be Part of The Community” and get involved with Community Driving School?
I met John just before Christmas and his story had a great impact on me. I understand how much independence is gained by being able to drive and wanted to offer support in a practical way, by funding driving lessons for someone who needed a helping hand.
Is there anything you would like to say to those people that will benefit from your generosity?
It’s a privilege to be able to help you and I wish you the very best of luck in your future.
