Justin was Steve Richmonds best mate.  They met in 2000 on holiday in Greece and instantly hit it off.  Although they didn’t see it at the time, they were very similar in looks (Justin would always tell Steve he was the better looking one) and when he left for home, everyone in the hotel was asking “where is your brother” and “why has your brother gone home before you”.  When Steve got home, he soon arranged to visit and when Justin went home, his friends were asking the same thing.

That was it, they did everything together when possible.  Steve is godfather to his 2 daughters and Justin is godfather to 3 of Steve's 5 children.

Devastatingly, Justin passed away in March 2023 from cancer.  He fought like he lived his life, with the most infectious smile and like a Royal Marines Commando.  He was positive to the end and never ONCE complained.

During his time in the Royal Marines Commandos, he was known as Smiler.  Those who knew him, knew why.  Those who didn’t know him … well, they missed out.

It was Smiler’s idea and hope that Steve joined The Community Driving School and the rest, as they say, is history.  There is a slight difference with the sponsored driving lessons I will provide here in Southport – in honour of Justin “Smiler” Rogers, I will help his former comrades who have fallen on difficult times and teach Royal Marine Veterans and their children to drive as part of what we do.

The only name we can give this car is Smiler.
